Mechanical Design Engineer Posted on May 6, 2025 May 6, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of mechanical components and systems. This role involves supporting design initiatives from concept through production, creating detailed drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all designs meet functional, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, creativity, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced engineering environment. Position Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Drafting Develop 2D and 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software. Apply mechanical design principles to create components and assemblies that meet performance and cost objectives. Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings in accordance with engineering and industry standards. Project Collaboration Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and suppliers to bring designs from concept to reality. Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of products and processes. Assist in prototype development and testing to validate design performance. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide technical input during product development and production. Investigate and resolve design-related issues and support modifications or upgrades as needed. Maintain design documentation and support change control processes. Prerequisites 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in a manufacturing or product development setting. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor). Understanding of manufacturing methods, material properties, and mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects. Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Certifications in design software, product development, or mechanical systems are preferred but not required.
