Job Description
ElectraMet is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will support the design, development, and continuous improvement of our wastewater treatment systems and components. This role will focus on product design, creating detailed 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks, supporting production, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability. This position will be located at our Headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky.

Supplier visits as required Core Responsibilities Design and specify components for use in ElectraMet wastewater treatment systems Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks Assist in the design of tooling, fixtures, and custom mechanical components for manufacturing processes Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure designs meet manufacturability and performance requirements Support prototype and production builds, testing, and validation activities Revise and maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and drawing revisions Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce costs Troubleshoot design-related issues on the shop floor and implement design improvements Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related field 3-5 years of experience in product design and development in a manufacturing environment Proficiency with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, plumbing, fabrication, assembly) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T basics Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and teamwork skills Experience in the water industry is a plus Experience in fluid dynamics a plus Why Join ElectraMet?Mission-driven work:

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience. As part of the package, you'll receive a stock option grant alongside comprehensive company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision coverage.
