Job Description

Job Title R D Engineering Technician, Ultrasound (Cambridge, MA) Job Description The R D Technical Assistant will prepare/conduct test samples for reliability and design qualification testing, document test plans and reports, as well as supporting hands-on prototyping, machine preventative maintenance and failure analysis teardowns to support the development of medical ultrasound transducers.
Your role:
Determines the method/sequence of work, whether parts with abnormalities should be replaced or modified and desirability of using and making tools and accessories. Assesses and analyzes the desirability/necessity of improvements and simplifications in processes and procedures and draws up a change form. Conducts and coordinate's reliability and design qualification testing in collaboration with R D reliability engineers, Product Industrialization engineers, and Supply Chain engineers. Conducts and coordinates performance, acoustic, and safety testing and performs failure analysis in collaboration with R D engineers. Supports prototype builds and documents test plans, protocols, and reports. Performs preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and operates laboratory equipment/environmental chambers, relating to the reliability and design qualification testing of medical ultrasound transducers. You're the right fit if: You have a Vocational Degree. Associates or Bachelors Degree in Acoustics or an Engineering discipline, desired. You've acquired 1+ years of experience in working in/maintaining a highly regulated Test/R D lab environment (FDA/ISO medical device highly desired). Your skills include hardware troubleshooting, testing, prototyping and any experience in reliability, failure analysis and acoustics highly desired. You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position. You're a self-starter, highly motivated with good organizational/time management skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an excellent team player capable of working with cross-functional/multi-site teams. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations. This is an office role. Philips Transparency Details The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $25-$40. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
