Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Product Project Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing mechanical products throughout their entire lifecycle. This role blends core product design and prototyping responsibilities with full-scope project management—overseeing project scheduling, budgeting, quality assurance, and technical execution to ensure all deliverables meet customer needs and strict industry standards. 2.
Job Responsibilities:
Product Design & Research:
Conduct research and market analysis for new and existing products. Create 3D models and mechanical/technical drawings for stainless steel lifting and rigging components in compliance with
ASME Y14.5
standards.
Engineering Calculations & FEA:
Analyze tensile strength and structural integrity using manual calculations and SolidWorks Simulation. Establish safe working load limitations for critical components.
Project Management & Supervision:
Oversee project lifecycles from initial research to full production release. Manage project schedules, supervise technical execution, and maintain project budgets, quotes, and costing metrics.
Prototyping & Manufacturing Support:
Design specialized tooling for gaging and manufacturing. Collaborate with management and shop personnel to transition prototypes seamlessly into full-scale production, using machine tools as needed.
Quality Assurance & Testing:
Oversee physical product testing and evaluation using mechanical testing equipment. Conduct quality inspections and utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gages) to verify product specs.
Documentation & Interdepartmental Support:
Maintain technical documentation, product specifications, and testing reports. Provide engineering support and technical documentation to Purchasing, Sales, and Quality Control teams. 3.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using SolidWorks with Simulation/FEA.
- Technical drawing to standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Minimum 5 years of professional Mechanical Engineering experience
- Autocad CAD Drawing ability
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including forging, casting, wire forming, and custom fabrication.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions given verbally as well as written.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- Proficiency in Solid Works.
- Able to use Autocad for drawing.
- Technical drawing experience, CAD and Solid Works or suitable 3-dimensional software.
- Competency with machine tools.
- Use testing of equipment and precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gages).
- Use 3D printers.

- Office environment, relaxed atmosphere with open office cubical workspace.
- Business casual dress.
- Work lab area, safety shoes and glasses as required.
- Warehouse /shop /QC area Safety shoes and glasses required.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while using a computer or attending meetings.
- Occasionally this position will need to move about the office and warehouse to interact with employees.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, including verbal and written interactions that require speaking clearly, listening attentively, and accurately interpreting and responding to information.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude/hand dexterity to assemble prototypes and 3 D models.

Full-time Pay:
$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per hour
