Mechanical Engineer III
Job Description
Role Summary We are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer III to drive our research, development, and product advancement efforts. You will collaborate across departments—including manufacturing, quality, sales, and product management—to foster innovation, execute value engineering, and refine our existing product portfolio. Primary Duties Develop mechanical assemblies and parts for both current and upcoming product lines. Generate and update 3D CAD designs and technical models. Assess and choose optimal materials, components, and production methodologies. Help validate the performance of newly sourced materials and parts. Manage and update all technical specifications, engineering prints, and related documentation. Drive the execution of our product roadmap by supporting new development initiatives. Enhance product efficiency and longevity through value engineering and improvement projects. Partner with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges. Execute practical engineering tasks and laboratory testing as necessary. Maintain a secure workspace for the entire team by strictly adhering to safety protocols and utilizing required PPE. Essential Qualifications BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Between 5 and 10 years of professional experience within R&D, product development, or similar engineering settings. Proficiency in mechanical design and the use of 3D CAD software. Background in selecting materials and components while maintaining rigorous engineering records. Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships across diverse functional teams. Capability to perform physical engineering tasks within a lab setting. Readiness to utilize necessary personal protective equipment. Desired Qualifications Prior experience working within the water sector. Knowledge of electrochemical principles. Familiarity with the full lifecycle of product development, including sustaining and value engineering. Setting the Scene This is an onsite role based in a team-oriented R&D office and laboratory. You will work alongside a group of 10 to 20 colleagues in an open-plan office space. The position involves a mix of desk-based design and hands-on laboratory activities.
