90,000-130,000 About The Company A rapidly growing multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join its expanding team. The organization has experienced significant growth over the past two years and continues to secure a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong focus on federal, government, and commercial facilities. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of building system projects while collaborating with experienced engineers, architects, contractors, and clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of HVAC and plumbing systems and will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers. Responsibilities Design mechanical systems for commercial and government facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems. Develop design sketches, layouts, plans, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design solutions. Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction surveys. Prepare technical reports, narratives, specifications, and project documentation. Select and specify equipment and system components for construction projects. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and contractors throughout project execution. Review and produce technical drawings, plans, and specifications. Track project progress and maintain design documentation. Mentor and support junior-level mechanical engineers. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (AE background preferred). 2-5 years of experience in mechanical building systems design. Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, or government facilities. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification. LEED Accreditation or sustainability-related credentials. Experience working on federal or government projects.
