Job Description The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, designing mechanical building systems, and preparing construction documents in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. This individual should be comfortable working independently, exercising sound engineering judgment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. The candidate should have experience leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, coordinating with project managers and engineers, and communicating effectively with clients throughout all phases of a project.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems, engineering principles, and applicable building codes. Proficiency in Revit, engineering modeling software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities. Responsibilities Perform engineering calculations and develop mechanical system designs in compliance with industry standards, codes, and project requirements. Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings. Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, architects, and other engineering disciplines throughout the design process. Participate in project planning, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and manpower estimates. Review engineering designs for accuracy, constructability, coordination, and quality assurance. Provide technical leadership and guidance to designers and junior engineers. Mentor team members and support their professional development. Communicate with clients regarding project requirements, design solutions, and project progress. Resolve technical challenges through sound engineering judgment and practical application of mechanical engineering principles. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Perform final design reviews prior to project completion. Support additional engineering and project-related duties as assigned.
