Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responsible for preliminary design phase planning and execution of the mechanical, opto-mechanical, and electro-mechanical sub-system and system level integration and test planning. Including development and prototype test planning, structural verification planning, optical stability verification planning, electro-mechanical verification planning, mechanical ground support equipment design and development, and integration planning. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 25 years of relevant experience. Deep working knowledge of GSFC facilities and capabilities in support of the requested planning and execution. Close familiarity with the voice coil actuators that were used for the LRalph Scan Mirror System. Possess understanding of electromagnetic systems to support the design and analysis of a magnetic holding or latching mechanism.
