Job Description

Commercial Loss Engineer My client is an industrial, commercial, and residential loss recovery company. They are looking for a Commercial Loss Engineer who can design, analyze, and interpret mechanical/electrical requirements and ork on systems where mechanical performance and electrical power requirements are closely connected, such as industrial machinery, power plants, HVAC systems, robotics, manufacturing equipment, and battery or power electronics installations.
Essential Duties:
Create and review technical drawings, specifications, test reports, and design calculations Gain a full understanding of what any associated third party (insurance, DOD, etc.) is requesting. Gain an understanding of what the customer produces Document all areas and equipment impacted by the event Provide a comprehensive assessment on the mitigation requirements Identify any standards that must be met or satisfied to complete the work Coordinate activity to complete the plan on schedule and on budget Choose appropriate materials based on strength, weight, corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, thermal conductivity, cost, and manufacturability Equipment will integrate mechanical structures with electrical devices Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis Diagnose mechanical and electrical-power-related problems Ensure all work performed meets Standards, Codes, and Safety requirements Lockout/tagout procedures, grounding practices, arc flash hazards, equipment clearances, enclosure ratings, and industry standards Create and maintain a work environment that motivates employees.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. 2+ years' experience in an electrical or mechanical environment. Must be experienced with Microsoft Office. Develop technical documents. Proficient in working with CAD tools. Proven ability in using simulation tools for finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, or thermal analysis. Design, analyze, and improve mechanical components and systems. Understand the basics of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. Understand motors, generators, actuators, drives, pumps, compressors, power converters, and control interfaces. Understand heat transfer through conduction, convection, and radiation, as well as cooling methods such as fans, heat sinks, liquid cooling, ventilation design, and thermal insulation. Understand manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, casting, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly methods. Basic knowledge of sensors, instrumentation, automation, and control systems, including: Temp. sensors, pressure sensors, current sensors, relays, PLCs, motor controllers, variable frequency drives, and feedback systems Proven ability in Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis. Logical thinking, data analysis, testing, and collaboration with technicians and electrical specialists. Communicate to all levels of the organization and external relationships. Minimum of Two years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical Environment. We are an equal employment company, with a drug-free workplace.
