Lead Mechanical Engineer - Automation I'm working with a growing automation business in the Grand Rapids area looking to add a Lead Mechanical Engineer to their team. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys designing custom machinery, solving complex engineering problems, and taking ownership of projects from concept through build and installation. What you'll do Lead the mechanical design of custom automation and machinery Take projects from initial concept through detailed design, build and commissioning Develop machine layouts, assemblies, tooling and mechanical components Work closely with controls, manufacturing and project teams throughout the build Provide technical direction and mentorship to other engineers Support customers and equipment through installation and startup What you'll need Strong mechanical design experience within custom automation or machine building Experience taking machinery from concept through completion Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design fundamentals Experience designing mechanisms, tooling, fixtures and automated equipment Comfortable taking technical ownership of projects and mentoring others Willingness to support occasional customer-site travel

Pay:

$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
