Mechanical Engineer Automation & Tooling Location:
Lake Orion, MI Long-term contract with full benefits $40-50/hr paid weekly Due to Federal ITAR policies (International Traffic & Arms Regulations), we are only able to consider Green Card holders or US Citizens. This is NOT due to VISA Sponsorship issues, this is for federal regulation issues. This role is NOT open to corp2corp (C2C) or corp2hire (C2H). We are seeking a experienced Mechanical Engineers to support the design and development of automation and general assembly systems for a major Honda tooling project. This role requires a strong background in mechanical design, hands-on engineering, and collaboration within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products and automation systems Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstrations Perform engineering calculations to support design development Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturing Work closely with vendors and contractors to support design execution and implementation Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle to track development and design changes Ensure project timelines are met and projects remain within budget Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent practical experience Approximately 10 years of mechanical design experience Proficiency in
CATIA CAD
software (required) Tooling experience required Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes Experience designing mechanical systems within automation or general assembly environments Preferred Industry Experience Automotive industry experience (Honda or similar OEMs preferred) Experience with general assembly or industrial automation systems How to Apply for
