Role summary / purpose Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer Key responsibilities Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicle using design guidelines. Support vehicle build events at customer site. Incorporate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines into the design. Support cost reduction initiatives. Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes. Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track cost. Review warranty claims to identify design improvements. Requirements - education & experience BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred). Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry. Required skills Logical thinking to solve design issues. Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites and customer sites. Good communication skills. Open-minded personality to deal with a dynamic customer environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Nice-to-have / preferred skills Automotive industry experience.
