Mechanical Design Engineer | Automation and Robotics6 Month Contract | Day Shift | Port Huron, MIIMMEDIATE NEED Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in robotic automation, programming, troubleshooting, and fixture design. This position requires someone who can step into active automation projects and begin contributing quickly with minimal training. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience working with robotic automation systems, mechanical fixture design, equipment programming, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing or machine build environment. ResponsibilitiesDesign and modify automation fixtures using SolidWorks 2D and 3D CADProgram, troubleshoot, and support robotic automation equipmentDiagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and controls related equipment issuesSupport robotic automation and manufacturing projects from design through implementationDevelop and modify fixtures used in robotic automation systemsTroubleshoot automation equipment and identify root causes of equipment or process issuesSupport fixture development, testing, installation, and startupCollaborate with engineering, controls, manufacturing, and machine build teamsApply mechanical design principles, pneumatic concepts, and electrical controls knowledgeSupport prototype builds, equipment modifications, and continuous improvement projectsComplete engineering reports, protocols, drawings, and project documentationQualifications | Must HavesBS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline3 plus years of mechanical design, automation, machine build, or manufacturing engineering experience preferredStrong SolidWorks 2D and 3D CAD experienceHands on robotic automation programming and troubleshooting experienceExperience troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and controls related issuesExperience with robotic fixtures, automation equipment, machine design, or machine buildStrong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently and contribute with minimal trainingExperience supporting equipment startup, debugging, testing, and implementationStrong communication and documentation skillsWhy Apply?
