Mechanical Design Engineer Vacuum Technique LLC United States, Michigan, Traverse City Sep 09, 2026

Your role As a Mechanical Design Engineer for PC-Traverse you will be an integral part of the engineering team working closely to design and improve product and performance. Job description Lead projects in creating designs/improvements for various rotary vane pump and rotary lobe blower product lines

Analyze and test designs for efficiency, functionality, and durability

Collaborate with production and sourcing to drive projects to completion

Create CAD models and detailed production drawings (GD&T)

Support manufacturing to improve product line utilizing DFM methodology

Manage and direct engineering projects and mechanical designs

Manage relevant portions of the Engineering Change Requests process

Coordinate/conduct experiments and evaluations to validate product improvement initiatives

Manage product lifecycle

Participate in Atlas Copco GECIA program network

Work with third-party vendors such as foundries, tooling manufacturers, etc. as necessary

Assist with technical support and work instruction with various departments

Assist sales in customization potential of existing products and new market initiatives To succeed, you will need Experience requirements Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment

Project management experience

Sheet metal fabrication background a plus

Design for Manufacture (DFM) experience a plus Knowledge Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

Proficient in Inventor and/or SolidWorks (NVE uses Inventor)

Ability to utilize and interact with ERM system

Microsoft Office (esp. Excel)

Familiar with mechanics of rotating equipment a plus Educational requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent/similar discipline Position requirements Self-directed and able to work within a team environment

Take responsibility on the assigned tasks and managing multiple projects

Well-organized and able to present updates effectively

Willingness to be hands-on and eager to learn (production floor presence is required)

Proactive & commitment to solve problems (do not let a problem remain before sunset)
