[Insert employment type] Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Design Release Engineer (DRE) - Body Structures to support the design, development, and integration of automotive body systems and structural components. The ideal candidate will have strong vehicle design experience in Body Structures, Doors/Closures, or Platform/Underbody systems, along with the ability to lead component development and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers. This role focuses on delivering high-quality automotive designs that meet performance, safety, cost, weight, timing, and manufacturing requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of automotive body structure components and complete assemblies. Develop and implement functional objectives to achieve vehicle program performance targets. Manage component development activities to meet cost, weight, timing, performance, and manufacturability requirements. Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external partners, and suppliers to ensure design integration and program alignment. Support the integration of related subsystems into the overall vehicle body structure. Evaluate design concepts and resolve engineering issues throughout the development lifecycle. Ensure designs align with applicable automotive safety requirements, including relevant NHTSA and FMVSS standards. Support design reviews, validation activities, and production release milestones. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. 8+ years of automotive vehicle design experience in Body Structures, Doors/Closures, or Platform/Underbody systems. Demonstrated experience in automotive component and assembly design and development. Ability to lead design activities and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams. Knowledge of applicable NHTSA and FMVSS requirements related to vehicle body structures. Excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment. Preferred Experience Experience working with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Familiarity with body structure integration, design validation, manufacturability, and production release processes. Experience balancing structural performance, vehicle mass, cost, and program timing. Pay:

$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
