~1 Month Contract About the Company Our client is developing a next-generation aviation headset and is currently in the prototype (alpha) stage. They are in a critical phase of testing and refinement, working against an aggressive timeline to finalize the design for production tooling. The team is focused on resolving key acoustic performance challenges, including both passive and active noise cancellation. Position Overview We are seeking an Acoustics Engineer to support a short-term, high-impact project focused on refining headset acoustic performance. This role will be hands-on in testing, design refinement, and problem-solving related to frequency response and noise reduction. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Conduct hands-on acoustic testing and analysis to support headset development Identify and resolve issues related to frequency response and passive noise reduction Support and collaborate with engineers working on active noise cancellation (ANC) Contribute to design refinements, particularly within the inner ear cup acoustics Assist in modeling and integrating off-the-shelf speakers into the design Participate in technical decision-making related to acoustic performance Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to meet aggressive project timelines Required Qualifications 2-10 years of experience in acoustical / mechanical engineering Strong understanding of sound, vibration, and acoustic systems Hands-on experience with acoustical testing and analysis Experience working with small speakers, headsets, or similar audio devices Preferred Qualifications Prior experience specifically with headset or wearable audio device design Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Burnsville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
