Job Description

Lind Electronics is a leading manufacturer of rugged power solutions for mobile electronics. For over 30 years, Lind has been the main supplier of reliable, quality products to our many customers worldwide. Lind designs and assembles its products on-site at our manufacturing facility near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our primary products are digitally controlled DC-DC power adapters and battery chargers for ruggedized laptops and tablet computers. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of our rugged power products while driving new product initiatives including cable assemblies and wire harness solutions. In this rewarding position, you will collaborate with engineering, production, and customers to bring innovative products from concept through production while supporting and enhancing our existing product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design guidance for all aspects of new product creation.
  • Lead the design and development of custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
  • Create design documentation (MCAD designs, BOMs, assembly drawings, etc.) for new products.
  • Interface with customers for design reviews and other technical discussions.
  • Help with customers to troubleshoot installation and functional problems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
  • Understand and help maintain existing product lines.
  • Guide design for compliance with worldwide and military certification requirements such as UL, TUV, CE, MIL-STDs, etc.
  • Research and development of new technologies pertinent to mobile power supply solutions.
  • Some travel may occasionally be required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
  • 4-10 years minimum work experience as a mechanical engineer
  • Hands-on experience in creating mechanical designs using Solidworks and Solidworks Electrical
  • Experience with cable assemblies or wire harness design.
  • Proven experience designing and developing electronics products for manufacturing
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously while meeting schedule and cost objectives
  • Experience documenting original designs for production release.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with other teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and Solidworks Electrical
  • Proficient with MS Office programs Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

$82,000.00
