ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Process machine system orders with difficulty rating level 1and 2 on a scale of 4. Match the appropriate assemblies or component parts to the machine order specifications. Design custom components and change parts to meet the customer's needs or specifications. Create CAD assemblies, part models, detail drawings, and Bill of Materials for machine orders and verifies for accuracy. Call for design review before releasing of assemblies. Is self-motivated to adjust schedule to meet design and release deadlines. Report projects that are falling behind schedule to the Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager in a timely manner so corrective action can be made. Report to the Engineering Manager any machine-related performance or safety concerns that are not being addressed. Escalates machine performance or safety concerns and supports corrective actions under the guidance of Engineering Leadership. Assist assembly floor and manufacturing when called upon to solve engineering problems. Maintain engineering machinery template files under the supervision of the machine Subject Matter Expert(s) and/or Engineering Leadership. Work with SolidWorks, PDM and Infor Syteline to maintain all engineering data. Process engineering change orders. Perform other tasks or duties as assigned. Education and Experience BSME plus zero to two years of experience or a two-year Associates Degree in Engineering plus five years of experience. Formal training or job experience designing with SolidWorks or similar 3-D solid modeling package. Technical Skills and Abilities Able to read, understand, analyze and problem-solve mechanical drawings and engineering related software programs. Able to use standard computer programs for work processing including Microsoft Office products. Interpersonal Communication Communicates clearly and effectively (verbally and non-verbally) to individuals and groups, internally and externally, to exchange ideas and convey detailed information accurately. Works well with a variety of people and personalities, and with other Delkor departments. Works collaboratively, as a team member, to suggest ideas and resolve issues in a positive manner. Work Ethic Well organized with an aptitude for details. Works independently and accurately with minimal supervision. Able to maintain a positive work place environment under stressful situations. Physical Requirements Sit at a desk or in meetings for extended periods, including performing extensive computer tasks. Possess arm and hand mobility and strength to lift, hold, reach, carry, push and pull machine parts on the floor. See and judge distances and space relationships to successfully operate basic hand tools and other detailed activities to fine tolerances, including reading written plans and other documents. Work Environment The majority of duties are performed in an office setting, carrying out detail work sitting at a desk and working on the computer. Ten to twenty percent (10-20%) of the work is performed on an assembly floor or at customer sites with exposure to tools, dirt, dust, chemicals, metals and plastics, varying temperatures, construction noises and odors from production processes. Tools and Equipment Use general office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, e-mail, calculator and other such equipment. Use basic hand tools including wrenches, pliers, screwdriver, voltmeter, etc. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $93,000 per year.
