Job Description
Job Overview Responsible for supporting product design activities including developing new designs and/or improving upon the performance and design of existing products. Support the R D team by participating in design activities, building prototypes, and testing design concepts. Provide drafting/modeling and document management support. Participate in prototype builds and install windows and doors for testing. Show a proven track record of success on multiple complex product development projects and ability to train others on best practices of document support, prototype activities and installation. Highlights of your role
Document Management:
Simultaneously create and track multiple complex ECN's (Engineering Changing Notices), and update/support drawings, models and documents using 3D modeling software. Lead project print planners, create and review redlines, and ensure prints meet drafting standards.Product Installation and Prototype Support:
Build, install and test prototype units. Independently develop working prototype concepts for feasibility analysis. Understand installation and test criteria needed to meet product certification test standards. Lead and train others on installation process best practices.Design Activities:
Work with Engineers and Designers to document and test new or existing design concepts. Use 3D modeling software to develop concepts. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred. Hands-on mechanical skills desired (wood crafts) and a working knowledge of tools such as chop saw, table saw, drill press, etc. required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and 3D CAD Modeling software (Inventor is ideal) are required. Must possess knowledge of manufacturing processes.
