Designs truss components and truss repairs for MiTek customers and creatively solve engineering issues our customers have. Responsibilities Creatively design field repairs for truss components in accordance with acceptable engineering principles and judgment. Design truss components based on specified parameters from customers and use their knowledge of engineering and the building codes along with collaboration with other engineers in the office to ensure their designs protect the health safety and welfare of the public. Discusses design modifications and reviews appropriate design methodologies with customers. Assist, train and counsel customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems. Review results of the truss design software for accuracy and collaborate with other engineers and with the software development team to determine how the software should function. Collaborate with engineers, architects and building officials on customer component design projects. Qualifications Bachelors Engineering required, preferably in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis Ability to perform technical skills including algebra, trigonometry geometry and basic calculus physics, statistics and strength of materials, structural analysis. Ability to read and understand prints and schematics Able to use Microsoft Office Applications Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Any State Board preferred Soft Skills Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others Must have solid engineering/technical skills, including attention to detail Must have an outstanding safety record and follow all safety policies and procedures Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
