As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer with Hitachi Energy, you'll shape the future of distribution transformer technology through innovative design, engineering excellence, and crossfunctional collaboration. In this role, you'll bring mechanical concepts to life-transforming customer specifications into highquality designs that support essential energy infrastructure. You'll work with 2D and 3D design tools, solve meaningful technical challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. How you'll make an impact Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering design activities.
Create and modify drawings, Bills of Materials, and technical documentation.
Lead and participate in design and customer specification reviews.
Provide timely mechanical engineering support across teams.
Support customer inquiries with clear, technically sound responses.
Contribute to vendor qualification, new component development, and testing.
Conduct analysis, design, and development work using 2D/3D tools for transformer products.
Mentor and guide earlycareer engineering colleagues.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Creo, or similar 2D/3D modeling tools.
Experience working with industrial or engineering standards.
Knowledge of padmounted transformer design (preferred).
Familiarity with IEEE and CSA standards for distribution transformers (preferred).
