Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a Temporary Pharmacist skilled in medication accuracy and patient safety. This contract role supports pharmacy operations at a specialized state psychiatric hospital in Fulton, MO, with a strong focus on medication verification and packaging.
Location:
Fulton, MO Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM No weekend or on-call duties; pharmacy closed on Missouri state holidays
Contract Duration:
Starting early September and ongoing until permanent hire
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pharmacist checks for technician-packed medications, including verifying flagged bags, repackaging, and making necessary corrections. Conduct barcode scanning to confirm medication accuracy post-fill. Collaborate with pharmacy staff for troubleshooting and quality assurance. Limited order verification required; behavioral health experience is not necessary. Work within a pharmacy located outside the secure perimeter of a high-security psychiatric hospital, ensuring minimal to no direct patient contact. Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Current Missouri pharmacist license required. Ability to engage with Oracle/Cerner order entry system; no prior experience necessary as full training will be provided. Comfortable using Parata ATP2 Packager automation; training included. Local candidates preferred given proximity and scheduling needs. Willingness to complete approximately three days of pre-start training. Professional appearance with business casual attire or scrubs in any color. This role provides an excellent setting for pharmacists seeking a focused clinical position without weekend or overnight obligations, supported by a collaborative team including a Director of Pharmacy, clinical managers, and residents.
