This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Project Manager who enjoys leading projects from concept through completion while working closely with customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing personnel to deliver innovative, custom-engineered solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong project management experience with hands-on mechanical design expertise and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges. This role requires collaborating directly with customers to understand technical requirements, developing 3D mechanical designs, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Candidates with experience in custom equipment, fabrication, and SolidWorks will thrive in this collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead custom mechanical equipment and fabrication projects from initial customer consultation through design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and project completion. Visit customer facilities to assess equipment and process challenges, gather technical requirements, and translate customer needs into practical engineering solutions. Create and refine 3D mechanical designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks while managing design revisions and customer approvals. Coordinate closely with engineering, machining, fabrication, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, functional, and meet project objectives. Develop and monitor project schedules, material requirements, budgets, and documentation while proactively addressing design changes, project risks, and customer expectations. Support equipment testing, troubleshooting, installation, project closeout, and assist with estimating, proposals, and change order activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field preferred, with 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, project engineering, project management, or custom equipment manufacturing. Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, including experience developing detailed mechanical models, assemblies, and production drawings. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering projects while collaborating effectively with customers and cross-functional manufacturing teams. Solid understanding of fabrication, machining, welding, assembly processes, and design for manufacturability, with experience developing practical mechanical solutions. Experience gathering technical requirements directly from customers, managing project documentation, and communicating effectively throughout the project lifecycle. Experience with custom machinery, stainless-steel fabrication, or equipment supporting regulated manufacturing environments is highly preferred, along with the ability to travel locally as needed.
