Working under a Senior Test Engineer, this individual will support a high-volume program involving approximately 700 part numbers. Designs are complete and moving through procurement, so the immediate focus will be updating test documentation, obtaining quotations, coordinating outside laboratory testing, and supporting qualification-test readiness. ResponsibilitiesCreate, review, and update qualification test plans, procedures, and reports.
Ensure testing complies with customer requirements, DO-160, and MIL-STD-810.Support test-readiness reviews and qualification-testing activities.
Develop statements of work and obtain quotations for external testing services.
Coordinate testing requirements, documentation, and schedules with outside environmental and EMI laboratories.
Review supplier proposals and track testing activities across a high volume of parts.
Prepare qualification-test reports and test-failure resolution documentation.
Maintain detailed testing schedules in coordination with Engineering and Program Management.
Collaborate with engineers, test technicians, Supply Chain, suppliers, laboratories, and customers.
Support testing of mechanical and electromechanical aerospace actuation systems.
Travel to outside test facilities as needed to supervise qualification testing.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Aerospace testing or qualification experience.
Experience with DO-160 and/or
Experience preparing test plans, procedures, and reports.
Experience supporting test-readiness reviews and qualification testing.
Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into test documentation.
Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple testing activities and documentation requirements simultaneously.
Ability to travel to external test facilities as required.
Must be a U.S. citizen due to ITAR requirements.
Preferred QualificationsEnvironmental or EMI testing experience.
Experience testing electromechanical aerospace equipment.
Familiarity with load cells, torque cells, resolvers, encoders, or related sensors.
Electronics or electrical-harness testing experience.
LabVIEW experience.
Test-fixture or test-rig development experience.
Basic 3D CAD experience; Siemens NX is a plus.
Assignment DetailsThe selected engineer should be available to begin as soon as possible. Initial qualification testing is expected to begin between October and December. Travel is typically up to 10% but may increase during peak testing periods.
