Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality and Test Engineer specializing in Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) Electrical Wires to join our innovative engineering team. The Quality/Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the final test department by executing, analyzing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical test processes for medium and high-voltage power cables. This role ensures products meet applicable standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements through rigorous testing, data analysis, and process control.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise Final Test operators and provide hands-on technical support.
- Perform electrical testing on medium
- and high-voltage cables, including PD, AC Withstand, insulation resistance, and continuity testing.
- Perform mechanical and physical testing, including tensile, elongation, and dimensional checks.
- Analyze test results, identify problems or trends, and complete certified test reports.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain high-voltage testing equipment.
- Support quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and customer inspections.
- Work with engineering and production teams to improve testing processes, accuracy, efficiency, and overall product quality.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1-3 years of experience in cable manufacturing, high-voltage testing, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with MV/HV cable testing, preferably PD and AC Withstand.
- Understanding of electrical testing principles and cable insulation systems such as XLPE and EPR.
- Experience with high-voltage test equipment and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED
- AS/BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Partial Discharge (PD) and AC Withstand testing.
- Familiarity with UL 1072, ANSI/ICEA, and
AEIC CS8
standards.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or quality systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining high-voltage test equipment.
- Experience with data analysis, SPC, or statistical tools.
- Experience supervising or leading test/production operators.
