Job Description

Our client, a Business Manufacturing And Supply company, is looking for a Mechanical Designer for their Wilmington, NC location.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and refining mechanical equipment designs and layouts using advanced CAD tools, ensuring strict adherence to client Machine Drafting Standards.

Your work will directly contribute to optimizing production systems, resolving design challenges, and delivering innovative solutions.

Develop and deliver mechanical equipment designs and layouts using AutoCAD® and Inventor, ensuring compliance with client drafting standards.

Produce and maintain detailed drawing packages, build packages, machine part lists, illustrations, and equipment specifications for production systems.

Redesign mechanical components to reduce installation costs, resolve equipment interferences, and correct design deficiencies.

Execute design changes to address equipment or process challenges, ensuring all designs meet functional and performance requirements.

Provide detailed sketches and marked-up drawings to address evolving project needs.

Requirements:

Associate's degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.

A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and translate engineering solutions into equipment design requirements.

Demonstrated commitment to job site safety.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication, to ensure efficient and practical designs.

Highly motivated and results-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.

Comfortable working in small teams and collaborating across departments to meet deadlines.

Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers, micrometers).

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
