Automotive Engineering / Vehicle Electronics About the Role Raglan is seeking mid-level Wiring Harnesses Developers to help us build our solutions. Help us design the nervous system of next-generation defense vehicles. At Raglan, we build advanced ground mobility solutions for our Nation's warfighters.   • Design and build wiring harnesses end-to-end for Defense vehicles, Automotive, and EV/Hybrid— from concept through production release.
  • Develop schematics, 2D harness drawings, ensuring proper bend radius, clip placement, strain relief, and service loops.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), connector tables, wire lists, and cut lengths.
  • Select wires, connectors, terminals, seals, conduits, and protective coverings appropriate to electrical loads, environmental exposure, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support prototype builds and vehicle integration on the shop floor, troubleshooting fitment, routing, and electrical issues alongside technicians and test engineers.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are producible, serviceable, and compliant.
  • Partner with suppliers on tooling, formboards, and process development for harness manufacturing.
  • Contribute to design reviews, lessons-learned, and continuous improvement of harness standards and best practices. Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of wiring harness design and development experience in race, automotive, EV/hybrid, aerospace, or defense industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of harness components: connectors, terminals, seals, splices, shielding, conduit, and circuit protection.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical system diagrams and translate them into manufacturable harness designs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
  • Ability to take OEM automotive electrical systems and adapt or merge them with aftermarket solutions.
  • Strong ability to cross reference and utilize deductive reasoning to problem solve.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think outside of the box for problem solving and building. Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Experience with high-voltage harnesses for EV/Hybrid applications (orange-jacket, shielded HV cable, HVIL circuits).
  • Proficiency creating schematics and 2D harness drawings using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadonix, RapidHarness, Capital Harness, Zuken E3, Mentor VeSys, AutoCAD Electrical, or comparable).
  • 3D routing experience in CATIA, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Familiarity with defense-grade interconnects (MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-5015) and ruggedized environmental requirements.
  • Exposure to functional safety standards (ISO 26262) or DO-160 environmental qualification.
  • Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and high-speed data harness design.
  • Knowledge of harness manufacturing processes — formboard design, crimping, ultrasonic welding, and automated cut/strip equipment.
  • Six Sigma, DFMEA, or DFM/DFA experience.
  • Prior work supporting low-volume prototype and high-volume production programs simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.
g., USCAR, IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE
J1128/J1678, MIL-STD-454/461
