The Structural & Thermal Analysis Engineer will perform detailed analytical and computational modeling of mechanical systems and hardware operating in complex thermal and structural environments. The engineer will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, test, and project teams to evaluate performance, improve reliability, and guide engineering decisions throughout the product development lifecycle. Projects may include aerospace systems, defense technologies, thermal management systems, cryogenic systems, advanced manufacturing technologies, and other technology areas. Responsibilities Develop and CAD to FEA-ready models Perform structural, thermal, and coupled thermo-mechanical analyses for thermal and mechanical systems Develop finite element models (FEMs) to evaluate stress, deformation, vibration, fatigue, thermal gradients, and margins of safety Conduct steady-state and transient thermal analyses involving conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer Support design trade studies and optimization efforts related to strength, stiffness, weight, and thermal performance Interpret analytical results and provide practical engineering recommendations to multidisciplinary project teams Correlate analytical predictions with laboratory or field test data Develop and validate hand calculations to support and verify computational models Participate in prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations Prepare technical reports and present engineering findings to internal teams and customers Contribute to new technology development initiatives
