Piping Design & Stress Analysis Engineer Location:
Bridgwewater, NJ Salary:
$100,000-$120,000/year Basic Job Function We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Design & Stress Analysis Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of piping systems in industrial and process plants. This includes 3D modeling, pipe stress analysis, support design, and generation of piping deliverables using industry-standard tools. Required skills Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ASTM). Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plant projects. Proficiency in Caesar II, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Autodesk Inventor, Navisworks. Knowledge of structural steel detailing and integration. Ability to interpret P&IDs, piping specs, and equipment layouts. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3 7 years of experience in piping design and stress analysis. Experience with piping materials, specifications, and fabrication practices. Appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Essential functions and responsibilities Perform pipe stress analysis using Caesar II to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME B31.1). Develop and manage 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Autodesk Inventor. Design and detail pipe supports and ensure proper integration with structural elements. Create and optimize piping layouts for process efficiency, safety, and maintainability. Generate piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and support details. Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Offs (MTO). Coordinate with process, mechanical, and structural teams to ensure design consistency. Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications. Participate in design reviews and constructability assessments. #ESJ
