Job Description:

We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to join our Hackettstown, NJ office. This role focuses on the mechanical design and coordination of low- and medium-voltage switchgear , power distribution equipment , and control enclosures -with particular emphasis on electrical-mechanical integration using EPLAN and industry-standard design tools. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3 to 6 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably with switchgear or electrical enclosure design Demonstrated experience with EPLAN (or equivalent design software), electrical schematics , and electrical-mechanical coordination Demonstrated experience reconciling multiple drawings and reference documents into a coordinated design Required Skills Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and assembly creation Experience with switchgear or MCC (NEMA Class 891) systems Solid understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and mechanical fit Experience working with sheet metal and enclosure-based designs Ability to interpret electrical schematics, bus bar routing, and three-phase systems Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Skills Deep familiarity with low- or medium-voltage switchgear design standards (NFPA, IEEE, NEC) Familiarity with bus bar systems and power equipment layouts Hands-on experience with EPLAN (or equivalent design software) Experience with CAD platforms such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD Exposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite Travel Requirements Approximately 10% of travel is required. Travel to various customer sites and manufacturer locations. Weekend and off-hours work required when needed. Provide on-call services when needed. Out-of-area extended travel arrangements provided by us. Expenses related to travel and meals while traveling are covered at cost.
