Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a senior process/design engineer to support scale-up and integration of chemical and mechanical process systems. This person will help move from block-flow concepts to final P&IDs, integrate multiple similar systems into one larger process, and work closely with I&C to lay out sensors, valves, piping, and equipment. The role will lead chemical processing system design associated with TRISO fuel manufacturing while developing process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, process simulations, equipment lists, utility-consumption lists, and detailed design packages. This engineer will create or coordinate engineering drawings and models that support fabrication, system integration, project proposals, cost estimates, procurement, construction, and commissioning. They will also manage technical relationships with vendors and suppliers, review design deliverables, and support process risk assessments, hazard and operability analyses, design-basis development, and technology evaluations for unit operations. The ideal candidate is stronger on mechanical/process design than a traditional semiconductor process engineer, can produce or modify CAD drawings directly, and understands fluid-handling, piping, hydraulic-style systems, and skid-based equipment. This person will contribute to modular skid design, process-equipment design for automation and robotic integration, and ownership of design details across process, mechanical, electrical, and controls interfaces. Pay ranges from $40-60/hr. We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.

Ten or more years of relevant engineering experience; a relevant advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the experience, subject to manager approval. Strong process/design engineering background with experience moving from block-flow concepts through P&IDs and detailed design packages. Hands-on CAD/drawing capability, with enough mechanical design strength to create or revise drawings without relying entirely on another designer. Experience designing or integrating fluid-handling, piping, hydraulic, mechanical, process, or skid-based systems with sensors, valves, and controls interfaces. Experience in nuclear-fuel manufacturing. Experience scaling processes from research and development to production. Experience with modular skid design and manufacturing. Experience designing process equipment for automation and robotic integration.
