Job Description
Mechanical Engineer We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer specializing in precision hydraulic and fuel system components. This role offers the opportunity to work on both new product development and legacy product support for applications used in commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, spacecraft, and turbine engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background, experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems, and the ability to take ownership of projects from concept through production. Key Responsibilities + Develop conceptual designs from customer specifications and engineering requirements. + Lead new product design and development efforts from concept through production release. + Create and release engineering drawings, models, documentation, and technical data packages. + Perform engineering analyses including: + Tolerance studies + Structural analysis + Hydraulic analysis + Dynamic and vibration analysis + Develop qualification test plans and test procedures. + Support production readiness and manufacturing implementation. + Serve as the primary technical contact for customers on assigned projects. + Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, test, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges. + Support continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshooting efforts for existing products. Required Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) + 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience + Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software + Experience designing hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Experience supporting products through design, testing, and production + Excellent attention to detail, organization, and project management skills Preferred Qualifications + Aerospace or defense industry experience + Knowledge of aerospace mechanical components and manufacturing processes + Experience with qualification testing, including: + Shock testing + Vibration testing + Environmental testing + Endurance testing + Experience with ANSYS or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) + Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics + Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis Work Environment + Clean, modern aerospace manufacturing facility + Combination of design engineering and hands-on manufacturing support + Time split between the engineering office and production floor + Collaborative team environment with strong mentorship and development opportunities + Business casual dress code Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bethpage, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
