Job Description:
Haider Engineering P.C. is seeking motivated Mechanical Engineers (PE and non-PE) to join our team on a high-profile project with the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) . This unique opportunity allows you to work directly within school facilities across all five boroughs, evaluating building conditions that help guide critical maintenance, repair, and capital improvement decisions. Whether you're an experienced engineer or looking to expand your skills in facility assessments, we provide paid training, professional development, and the chance to contribute to the safety and functionality of New York City's educational infrastructure.
NOTE:
The job location field is a placeholder. The project location is in all five boroughs of New York City.
Duties:
Conduct visual inspections of school building systems and components using proprietary mobile applications on a company-issued iPad. Prepare and submit daily reports detailing the condition of school facilities. Collect data on completed building improvements and upgrades through coordination with school personnel, including custodial engineers and principals. Accurately document and report deficiencies, including precise quantity counts. Generate and issue "Priority Condition Reports" for any identified life safety or hazardous conditions. Collaborate as part of a four-person inspection team on a daily basis. Report to assigned school buildings by 8:30 AM each day, regardless of weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including boilers, heating, and plumbing components. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
