Commercial Laundry Equipment Field Engineer (Utica Territory) Alliance Laundry Systems - 3.0 Syracuse, NY Job Details $23 - $28 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Company vehicle operation Driver's License Electrical diagnostics Mechanical systems repair Full Job Description A day in the field Launch from home and head straight to customer sites across the Utica, NY area—fitness centers, hospitals, motels, and more. You'll diagnose electro‑mechanical issues on commercial washers, dryers, and ironers; install replacement parts; and restore uptime with confidence. Throughout the day, you'll keep detailed records of your work (time and materials) and your travel (mileage and fuel), communicate status clearly to customers, and coordinate seamlessly with the service manager, parts team, and vendors. You'll care for your toolkit, testing gear, and company‑supplied service vehicle, and jump in with installation crews when needed to deliver and set up equipment. Your positive attitude and customer focus help strengthen long‑term relationships for Alliance Laundry Systems Distribution. What you'll do Troubleshoot and repair on‑premise and vended commercial laundry equipment Install necessary replacement components and verify performance Document all service activities accurately (time, materials, notes) Track all travel activities, including mileage and fuel purchases Explain findings and next steps to customers to ensure satisfaction Collaborate closely with the service manager, parts department, and vendors Maintain tools, test equipment, and a company‑supplied service vehicle Assist install crews with deliveries and equipment installations Handle additional tasks that keep the department operating efficiently What you'll bring High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of mechanical repair experience (commercial laundry preferred but not required); equivalent education/training/experience considered Hands‑on skill with electrical testing tools and other diagnostic/programming tools Experience with telephone/email/ticketing dispatch systems is preferred Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics Strong organization and attention to detail; able to manage multiple jobs and deadlines independently Clear written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills Comfort with basic computer use; MS Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred Adaptable, resilient, and proactive; a self‑starter with a strong work ethic Territory travel Significant travel within the assigned Utica, NY service territory Occasional overnight travel during special projects Physical and licensing requirements Regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing, and fine manual dexterity Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently; assistive devices provided for heavier items Frequent talking and hearing; frequent hand use for tools/controls; periods of computer‑based work requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus Valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record; a company vehicle may be provided How we show up
