Job Description

Mechanical Engineer (80-110K) We have a Mechanical Engineer opportunity available with our established automated equipment manufacturing client near the Syracuse, NY area. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Compensation & Benefits :
Attractive base salary + bonus plan. Straight time pay for any hour worked over 45 in the work week. Automatic 401K company contribution.

Company :
Mechanical Design & Engineering:
Design new machinery and modify or upgrade existing equipment. Develop 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Perform stress, deflection, and other mechanical calculations to validate designs; FEA experience is a plus. Select appropriate materials and components based on machine and application requirements. Ensure designs meet customer specifications while considering cost, reliability, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
Manufacturing & Assembly Support:
Provide hands on engineering support on the assembly floor throughout the machine-build process. Troubleshoot mechanical, fabrication, fit, and assembly issues as they arise. Develop and implement design changes and corrective actions to keep equipment builds on schedule. Review existing designs to identify opportunities to reduce part costs and assembly time.
Project & Cross-Functional Coordination:
Participate in contract reviews, design reviews, and project meetings. Coordinate project requirements between Mechanical and Controls Engineering. Serve as a technical liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales.
Background Profile :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an Associate degree in a related technical field. 2-4+ years of experience designing industrial automation, automated machinery, or similar equipment; related experience is preferred, but not required. Experience with 3D CAD modeling and exposure to engineering simulation or analysis software. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Strong mechanical design and problem solving abilities with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
