What you'll do Lead end-to-end machine development: concept, detailed design, build support, installation, and commissioning. Develop robust 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD). Engineer continuous-feed systems with web handling, tension control, and registration precision for print applications. Generate complete fabrication drawing sets, BOMs, and procurement packages for external fabrication partners. Evaluate commercial machinery and integrate or adapt it within Arrow's manufacturing ecosystem when advantageous. Support patent and IP documentation for innovative mechanisms and system designs. Conduct design reviews and mentor internal engineers on best practices. Translate needs from Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Automation, Production, Maintenance, and Operations into implementable solutions. Troubleshoot issues during assembly and commissioning; iterate designs for performance and reliability. Establish reusable design standards, documentation conventions, and review processes for custom equipment projects. Perform other duties as assigned. What you bring B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (required); M.S. preferred. 7+ years of industrial machinery design, emphasizing original machine creation. Proven track record taking machines from concept to production commissioning.

Strongly preferred:

experience with web handling, printing, or converting equipment. SolidWorks proficiency is required; PDM/data management experience preferred. Expertise in mechanical systems, machine design, fabrication methods, tolerances, and equipment integration. Ability to produce accurate fabrication drawings, BOMs, and vendor-ready documentation. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a practical approach to manufacturing challenges. Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Automation, Production, Maintenance, and Operations. Comfort operating in a hands-on environment across design, build, installation, and commissioning.
