Senior R D Machinery Systems Engineer — Web Handling & Converting Arrow Gaming International Brooklyn, OH Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering 3D modeling software 3D modeling for product design Blueprint creation using CAD software 3D modeling Full Job Description Role snapshot Arrow International is hiring a Senior R D Machinery Systems Engineer to design and deliver custom, non-commercial process machinery that advances our manufacturing capability. What you'll do Lead end-to-end machine development: concept, detailed design, build support, installation, and commissioning. Develop robust 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD). Engineer continuous-feed systems with web handling, tension control, and registration precision for print applications. Generate complete fabrication drawing sets, BOMs, and procurement packages for external fabrication partners. Evaluate commercial machinery and integrate or adapt it within Arrow's manufacturing ecosystem when advantageous. Support patent and IP documentation for innovative mechanisms and system designs. Conduct design reviews and mentor internal engineers on best practices. Translate needs from Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Automation, Production, Maintenance, and Operations into implementable solutions. Troubleshoot issues during assembly and commissioning; iterate designs for performance and reliability. Establish reusable design standards, documentation conventions, and review processes for custom equipment projects. Perform other duties as assigned. What you bring B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (required); M.S. preferred. 7+ years of industrial machinery design, emphasizing original machine creation. Proven track record taking machines from concept to production commissioning.
Strongly preferred:
experience with web handling, printing, or converting equipment. SolidWorks proficiency is required; PDM/data management experience preferred. Expertise in mechanical systems, machine design, fabrication methods, tolerances, and equipment integration. Ability to produce accurate fabrication drawings, BOMs, and vendor-ready documentation. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a practical approach to manufacturing challenges. Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Automation, Production, Maintenance, and Operations. Comfort operating in a hands-on environment across design, build, installation, and commissioning. How you'll work with us Collaborate daily with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and de-risk designs early. Own and refine standards that make future custom builds faster and more reliable. Champion continuous improvement from prototype through production ramp. You should be proficient in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Design & Engineering
