Job Description

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with three or more years relevant work experience. The ability to manage complex tasks within a dynamic project environment. Attention to detail and ability to rapidly respond to project demands and problems. Knowledge of basic machining practices Must be proficient with AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel and Project Experience with 3D CAD software. Inventor Series 11 or newer. Familiar with electrical/mechanical/hydraulic schematics and principles.
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer provides Engineering support to all areas of manufacturing, maintenance and/or product development to Howmet's Ti-Mill Segment. Responsible for project leadership for one or more development phases. Provides technical leadership for product development project segments or manufacturing process improvement programs as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Manage technical aspects of research and design tasks. Generate and/or approve CAD drawings, schematics and other documentation for design and release. Prepares design layouts and detail drawings in support of assigned technical activities. Assess new technology and new product ideas for technical and economic feasibility. Perform data analysis and interpretation and prepare reports and presentations. Interpret experimental data and make judgments about direction of development efforts. Performs ergonomic, cost and performance analysis for equipment upgrades. Recommend process improvements and design changes to reduce the manufacturing cost. Provide leadership, support and supervision to the contracted and assigned personnel for capital and expense projects. Perform other ditties as assigned.
