Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description This role supports internal customer service and warranty teams by investigating product issues, performing structured root-cause analysis, and driving corrective actions through completion. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-functional problem-solving, and is motivated to take ownership of projects from initial information gathering through final resolution. Responsibilities Lead engineering investigations related to internal customer service and warranty claims. Gather incomplete or ambiguous information and determine what additional data is needed to fully understand an issue. Perform structured root-cause analysis based on evidence, testing, and cross-functional input. Develop and implement corrective actions, which may include design updates, documentation changes, or process improvements. Collaborate closely with internal teams including customer service, manufacturing, quality, and other engineering groups. Participate in brainstorming sessions and carry forward the most promising concepts to validated solutions. Manage projects from initial problem statement through final resolution, ensuring timely progress and clear communication. Provide design support as needed, such as simple component updates or minor modifications. Utilize PDM systems and engineering documentation processes within a structured organizational environment. Essential Skills Enthusiasm and drive towards customer-focused problem-solving. Foundational understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering problem-solving methods. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment. Strong analytical mindset and detail-oriented approach with a commitment to evidence-based decision-making. Excellent communication skills and engagement with internal stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience with 3D modeling programs (Creo or SolidWorks preferred). Prior experience in a larger organization with exposure to PDM libraries and structured engineering workflows. At least 2+ years of working engineering experience. Work Environment Mostly an office environment, working alongside various engineering teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Orrville, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
