Test Engineer Job Description This Test Engineer role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting automated test systems for printed circuit boards (PCBs), control units, and new product development. You will build robust test solutions using LabVIEW and other programming languages to ensure electronic and electromechanical products meet stringent performance and reliability standards. The position offers the opportunity to work in a hands-on lab environment, collaborate closely with design engineers, and contribute to long-term, impactful projects in a highly technical industry. Responsibilities Design and support automated test systems for PCBs, control units, and new product development projects. Develop test software in LabVIEW and other programming languages to automate testing and data collection. Create detailed test procedures based on schematics, specifications, and engineering requirements. Design, modify, and troubleshoot test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and control circuits. Support qualification and validation activities for products and test equipment to ensure compliance with requirements. Perform root cause analysis of product and equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Partner closely with design engineers to develop, refine, and validate test methods for new products. Document test results, procedures, and technical reports in a clear and organized manner. Use electronic test equipment and tools to execute tests, verify functionality, and diagnose issues. Continuously improve automated test solutions to enhance reliability, coverage, and efficiency. Essential Skills Bachelors degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of test engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong hands-on test engineering background with electronic or electromechanical products. Proven experience developing and maintaining test solutions in LabVIEW (required). Experience with automated test development and coding for electronic systems. Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and technical documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a lab or test environment. Proficiency using test equipment and instrumentation for electronic and electromechanical systems. Experience with software testing and automated test frameworks. background in designing or supporting test systems for PCBs and control units. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with C++, or other automation-oriented programming languages. Experience testing PCBs, control units, or similar electronic hardware. background in aerospace, automotive, or defense industries. Familiarity with automated test data collection and analysis tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams. Strong written communication skills for documenting test procedures and results. Interest in long-term consulting opportunities and ongoing technical development. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Twinsburg, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
