Overview:
Our client is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment for large-scale power generation and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex mechanical systems, piping networks, and industrial equipment supporting mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering foundation, experience with HVAC and/or piping systems, and a desire to grow within a rapidly expanding engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design tools. Perform mechanical calculations including load analysis, stress calculations, thermal analysis, and fluid flow evaluations. Support equipment sizing and selection for HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, piping systems, and related mechanical equipment. Develop, review, and maintain engineering specifications, technical documentation, and design packages. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, construction documents, and design deliverables. Participate in BIM coordination efforts utilizing Revit and other modeling tools. Evaluate system performance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical design issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including electrical, civil, and manufacturing professionals. Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety requirements. Support project planning, scheduling, progress reporting, and engineering documentation efforts. Participate in occasional travel to project sites and customer locations as required.
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience. Experience with HVAC systems, industrial piping systems, oil and gas piping, or related mechanical infrastructure. Experience with HDPE piping, PolyPipe systems, or fluid transport systems is highly desirable. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit. Understanding of mechanical calculations, equipment sizing, and system design principles. Familiarity with engineering specifications, industry standards, and construction documentation. Experience working with industrial equipment, engines, power generation systems, or large mechanical systems is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
