Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Summary Works under general direction with moderate supervision. Designs and details Standard and/or Custom large scale industrial equipment, utilizing acquired technical skills and acceptable design criteria, within projects as specified /assigned by the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager, or the Director of Engineering. All new designs and drawings to be created within Autodesk Inventor software, as compliant with Engineering Department's design Guidelines. Position Responsibilities Design and optimization of mechanical components for mechanical powertrain systems Design and detail Fabricated Weldments and machined components Components include frames, brackets, shafts, couplings, flanges, housing, clutches etc. Analysis of mechanical systems, including Finite Element analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and acoustics Analysis and specification of electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems Develops manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications Role Priorities Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent problem solving and time management skills Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software Self-motivated and highly organized Reporting to this position N/A Role Qualifications Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and Inventor Vault Essential Skills and Experience Analyze customer design proposals, specification Ability to meet with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand needs and requirements Understand mechanical systems including pneumatics Beneficial Skills and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years' experience Experience designing multi-axis continuous duty industrial equipment Exposure to Robotics and Industrial Automation PI286275485
