Location of Employment:

Philadelphia, PA Job Duties Perform mechanical, plumbing and site utility design for various buildings, including multi-family dwellings, restaurants, hospitals, industrial and other mixed-use commercial properties. Operate computer-aided design (CAD) programs, such as AutoCAD and Revit, to simulate, analyze, and optimize the ductwork and piping routing and equipment placement. Perform heating and cooling load calculations considering building envelopes, environmental condition, and air change. Perform indoor air quality and humidity control design. Perform indoor air flow and temperature distribution design. Perform duct and piping hydraulic calculations. Perform the boiler, steam and hot water system design. Perform system life-cycle cost analysis. Design building and equipment automation control. Perform geothermal system design. Research and evaluate emerging HVAC technologies and provide customized HVAC systems tailored to specific client requirements, such as hospital isolation room, laboratory fume, commercial kitchen hood and indoor garage ventilation. Minimum Job Requirement Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of thermal and fluids, heat and mass transfer, and HVAC system. Strong knowledge of air properties process (Temperature and Relative Humidity), compressible and incompressible-fluid flow, flow network modeling, theory of fan and pump, combustion of boiler, Energy Efficiency Analysis, Heat Exchanger Principal. Strong knowledge of life cycle cost analysis, building automation control, computational fluid dynamic. Strong knowledge may be gained through educational coursework, training, or experience.
