Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Inspection Technology group, focusing on developing remote delivery systems for non-destructive examination within the commercial nuclear sector. In this role, you will apply your expertise in mechanical design, finite element analysis, and CAD software to create innovative solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and safety of nuclear power plants.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive project success by executing engineering functions and ensuring customer commitments are consistently met. Develop detailed design reports and technical specifications to guide the manufacturing and implementation of inspection systems. Apply engineering principles and hand calculations to validate designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Lead design activities, including cost estimating, functional specifications, detailed design with supporting calculations, and tooling concepts, while adhering to established design processes. Create and revise procedures and drawings to support both design and field activities, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Troubleshoot, repair, and functionally test electro-mechanical equipment to maintain operational readiness. Support the implementation and troubleshooting of inspection equipment at nuclear plant sites, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
Required Skills Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis. Proficiency in CAD software for design and modeling. Preferred Skills Experience in the nuclear power industry and familiarity with relevant industry requirements. Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques and methodologies. Familiarity with robotics, multi-axis scanners, and control systems.
