Job Description

This role is 100% remote with no more than 10% travel. Compensation $120-160K+ (based on experience) plus full benefits. Our client is a leader in the design and manufacture of custom-engineered pumps and motors for critical applications in power generation, nuclear research, and small modular reactor (SMR) development. They design, engineer, and manufacture to order. To support a large contract with a SMR to custom engineer and manufacture reactor pumps for a new build, they are expanding their Advanced Nuclear Group and have created a new Design Engineer and Sr. Design Engineer positions. The people hired into these roles will provide non-supervisory engineering work though all phases of new unit design, development, manufacture, test, and commissioning.
Requirements:
Due to Federal Contract requirements, US Citizenship is required for this position. BSME and 4+ years of mechanical engineering design and analysis for rotating machinery such as pumps and motors. Background in nuclear power generation Strong SolidWorks or solid modeling Knowledge of ASME Code Section VIII or Section III. Experience with some FEA analysis (static, thermal, frequency, transient, non-linear) Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards and specs. Comfortable with GD&T Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles associates with the design, analysis and operation of centrifugal pumps PE license or ability to gain it
Responsibilities:
Translate contract design specifications and code requirements into the requisite product design of components, subassemblies, and assemblies Preparation of manufacturing drawings, contractual submittals, calculations and analysis, procedures, test plans, and reports Utilize FEA software for stress/structural analyses, frequency analyses, seismic analysis, and thermal analyses Provide technical support to end users during the installation and commissioning of the manufactured equipment Support all aspects of unit design including initial planning, concepting, mechanical design, material selection, calculations, and (possibly) test plan creation Interface with customers and vendors as required in the performance of design activities •Johnson Service Group (JSG) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
