Job Description
We do not offer H-1B or other visa sponsorship for this position. We are seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to design and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional building projects. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concepts and calculations through construction documents and construction administration. The ideal candidate is someone who can make sound engineering decisions, identify coordination issues before they become problems, and produce designs that are practical, code-compliant, and ready to be built. Performance Objectives Develop complete and coordinated MEP construction documents, including plans, details, schedules, specifications, and supporting calculations. Perform system design, equipment selection, load calculations, and sizing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems based on project requirements and applicable codes. Review designs for constructability and identify potential conflicts between MEP systems and other disciplines before documents are issued. Coordinate regularly with architects, structural engineers, fire-protection engineers, contractors, and other project team members to resolve design issues and maintain project schedules. Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFI responses, site visits, and other technical support to ensure construction follows the design intent. Develop and maintain Revit models, CAD drawings, calculation templates, and other design resources that improve project efficiency and consistency. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 4+ years of experience designing MEP systems for commercial, institutional, or similar building projects. PE license preferred; EIT certification with a clear path toward licensure will also be considered. Proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of applicable building and engineering codes, including IBC, IMC, IPC, NEC, and current energy codes. Experience producing coordinated BIM models, construction documents, and engineering calculations. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and other disciplines. Ability to make sound engineering decisions and address design and constructability issues independently.
