What You Will Do Lead complex mechanical engineering projects from planning through design, construction & commissioning Perform detailed engineering design, calculations, drawings, specifications & technical evaluations Design, analyze & optimize conveyor & bulk material handling systems Evaluate belts, idlers, pulleys, drives, take-up systems, crushers, feeders, chutes & related equipment Perform conveyor belt sizing, capacity, throughput & performance analyses Model bulk material flow, particle interactions & material handling system behavior Develop P&IDs, PFDs, equipment datasheets, BOMs & Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) Conduct design reviews & evaluate vendor proposals for compliance with codes, standards & project requirements Develop project scopes, P6 schedules, budgets, staffing plans & cost estimates Use engineering & material handling software such as Belt Analyst, Ansys Rocky Particle Simulation or equivalent Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, construction & project teams Provide technical leadership & support during construction, startup & commissioning Resolve complex technical issues & continuously improve engineering processes Develop technical reports, documentation & engineering recommendations What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline + 7 years of engineering experience , including lead or supervisory experience OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline + 5 years of engineering experience , including lead or supervisory experience Advanced knowledge of engineering principles & practices Experience managing large/complex engineering projects Strong analytical, problem-solving & decision-making skills Experience supervising, evaluating, training & motivating employees Strong written & verbal communication skills Ability to identify hazards & apply appropriate safety practices PE certification and/or advanced engineering degree preferred Preferred Experience Mining, heavy industrial or bulk material handling experience Conveyor system design, analysis & optimization Mechanical equipment selection & performance evaluation
