Job Description
Pumptec, Inc. is a leading provider of small, high-pressure plunger pumps and customized pumping systems for commercial applications. Our company is on the cutting edge in solar pump products. We are growing and looking to add a Project Engineer, a vital part of our company's team reporting to our VP of Engineering and working closely with Sales. Position Summary The primary purpose and responsibility of the Pumptec Project Engineer is to plan, direct, and coordinate internal Pumptec engineering projects, new product development, and improvement of existing Pumptec products. Essential Job Functions This role reports to the VP of Engineering and is Pumptec's technical leader and primary resource in the areas of: Mechanical design, development and implementation of pumps, pump components, and pumping systems Provide project planning and management direction, ensuring timely delivery of projects Ensure that engineering goals and objectives are met utilizing industry best practices Perform engineering calculations to confirm viability of new concepts and ideas Demonstrate expertise with CAD software to create and analyze solid models and assemblies Review designs, create working drawings and models, maintain database of engineering files, drawings, and BOMs in ERP system Work with production and purchasing to investigate and resolve issues, establish path for correction and update engineering documents as required Oversee and / or participate in building and testing of prototypes Develop test plans, oversee or perform tests, write and review test reports Work with Sales to determine project requirements and product development timeline and deliverables Collaborate with other departments to meet project objectives Mentor and support the professional and technical development of team members Provide input to VP of Engineering and Leadership Team regarding project progress and performance Provide expert consultation and analysis of complex projects Support Quality Control / Operations Provide support for quality assurance projects, tasks, and operations Assist in the development of quality standards and protocols Implement alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures Provide input for Non-Conforming Material reports for existing suppliers when corrective action is required Develop relationships and visit factories of key suppliers Consult on inspection and testing of raw materials, materials in process, and finished goods Provides input for work instructions for operations to generate and standardize assembly procedures Skills and Requirements Four-year college degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering 8-10 years of successful experience as a practicing engineer Effective communication and interpersonal skills required Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook applications Strong technical and computer skills in On Shape or Solidworks Capable of performing job tasks with minimal supervision Commitment to continuing professional development through self-study, classroom learning, and attending conferences and seminars Schedule 4 days per week, 10 hour days; flexible Day shift No weekends
Pay:
