Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join the Mako Robotics Product Engineering team to advance the future of Mako SmartRobotics™, a comprehensive robotic-arm assisted surgical solution. You will contribute to the research, design, and development of innovative product solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Mako Team:
MET This is a hybrid role based in Weston, FL; candidates must live within commuting distance and be on-site a minimum of 3 days per week. What You Will Do Under minimal supervision, research, design, develop, modify, and verify components/modules for medical devices, and translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce sub-system level designs. Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept. Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices, and procedures for problem solving, and develop skills to analyze and correct complex product design issues using independent judgment. Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs, demonstrate proficiency with the product's intended use and clinical procedures, and learn how the financial models are Follow industry standards, design requirements, and test strategies aligned to regulatory requirements; create/refine engineering documentation (e.g., Design History File); and follow R D procedures (design controls, risk management) per the Quality Management System. Under minimal supervision, work with R D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success, working as a key member of the team, collaborating with others, and solidifying relationships. Quickly process and assimilate procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required, and demonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision. Work on complex problems, applying advanced experience and learnings. What You Will Need Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical, Robotics, Bio-Medical, or a related discipline required 2+ years of industry experience required. Experienced and proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD software. Ability to work in Creo is highly desirable. Preferred Skills Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design. Ability to communicate basic plans and technical information to team members. $89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual
