Position Title:

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Supports)

Position Description:

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Senior Mechanical Engineer (Supports) opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class NF structural supports, including frames, brackets, hangers, and other support elements used in nuclear facilities. Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, load evaluations, and qualification reports inpliance with ASME Section III and related nuclear codes and standards. Prepare engineering design packages, including performing or reviewing design calculations to ensure accuracy and codepliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define design requirements, resolve technical issues, and optimizeponent performance. Interface with internal quality teams, third-party reviewers, and regulatory bodies to support audits, design reviews, and code certification processes. Support material selection, fabrication requirements, inspection criteria, and acceptance standards for Class NFponents. Participate in engineering change processes, nonconformance evaluations, and corrective action development as required. Maintain current knowledge of ASME Section III revisions, NRC guidance, and industry best practices.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred Minimum of eight years of equipment /ponent design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience, PhD as four. Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Deep understanding of structural and seismic design. Experience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, andmercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS. Excellent writing andmunication skills. Strong analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinker. Ability to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems. Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week. Familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks preferred. Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III preferred. The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity,municate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
